The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

Calvin M. Davenger, Jr., CM, PE Penn State helped me prepare for various careers during my working experience. Early in my career I worked in construction as a field engineer in the Middle East. Then on to Europe where I traveled to manufacturing facilities inspecting sophisticated components and materials. However, my travels have come full circle as I am now back home in Philadelphia. While at Penn State a career in aviation was not on my radar, as currently I am serving as Deputy Director of Aviation, Planning and Environmental Stewardship at the Philadelphia International Airport. I began my aviation career in June 1991, twenty years after completing my degree at Penn State. With my appointment in November 2003, I have been responsible for feasibility and environmental impact studies for long-range airport infrastructure improvement projects and managing environmental compliance matters. I am a proud Life Member of the Penn State Alumni Association, Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and an Urban League Leadership Institute Alumni. Presently serving on the Airport Advisory Board, also is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives, Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials.
